More about the references in this project
One of my interests is the growing availability of free education on-line. I have become a fan of some UCBerkeley lectures on itunes, including Hubert Dreyfus' philosophy courses. Moby Dick comes to play in Philosophy6: Man, God and Society in Western Literature. Currently I am listening to Philosophy185: Heidegger and struggling to read Being and Time. While isolatoes.com is not directly about Moby Dick or Heidegger or any of these things, they do inspire it and form a kind of background structure. I don't know where the project will end up. I do know that it is meant to function much like traditional collage in the spirit of Schwitters' merz.
